After trying Bolt out at sorcery it was learned that 3 damage is just too much damage for one mana when you can put that damage where ever you like

Hope itself has lifegain too, so you can Voltron it and try to win via a mix of damage and mill while gaining some life so you arent defeated too easily

For two mana, you get a Black Sorcery spell that can destroy any creature or enchantment you want, and the only other cost is that you lose life equal to that cards mana cost - thats not a bad thing with Deaths Shadow
