Maybe itd be a little less frightening if it only gave you extra mana for creature spells, but that wording is too awkward to even imagine
The drawback to these kinds of cards is that they only work once, and in Modern, that may not be good enough
I think the first ability making Dragons cost less overall is great, but the second ability is really where I would want to invest the most brain power into drawing giant swaths of cards and dumping powerful permanents like [casthaven]Crucible of Fire[/casthaven] or [casthaven]Coat of Arms[/casthaven] into play
Colloquially known as Alpha, this set has some incredibly powerful cards, combined with the fact that it had a limited printing, and is more than 30 years old, makes just about every card from this set cost a pretty penny

It promoted a whole slew of commons decks, which everyone could equally build, because of each decks low cost
