It was reprinted in Invasion (as a common) and later in Zendikar (again, as common) where it shined with the landfall abilities, because it was both instant and would trigger the ability twice

Its hard for it to have enough impact to be much of a sideboard card unless were really valuing the 1/4 reach aspect (not just the enters-the-battlefield trigger)

That said, the deck has 25 new-to-Magic cards to make up the difference, so all it takes is a few monetary hits from among those to give it a pass on value

Ive mentioned this before, but jank is my one true love

It suffers from the same slow build-up that all spore counter creatures do, but at one mana it gets a head start on ticking those spores up
